MSBL Information

MID SUBURBAN BASEBALL LEAGUE (MSBL)

HPBA Travel Baseball Teams participate in the MSBL. The MSBL is the most recognized league in Northern Illinois, known for its superior competition. Last year, the MSBL registered over 340 teams. Since its inception, the MSBL's mission was to provide travel teams the opportunity to play teams from nearby communities based on team needs and the availability of fields. There is no need to travel to faraway tournaments to find great competition in new teams. The MSBL remains one of the most competitive leagues in the Midwest. Teams that play in the MSBL continue to place and compete well in tournaments played all over the country.

The MSBL is a not-for-profit league of full-time travel teams playing competitive level baseball for 9-14 years old (part-time at 8U). With the growth of the MSBL, we have been able to offer "American," "National," and "Elite" Divisions to ensure teams have a competitive league for all. The MSBL uses IHSA rules with a few exceptions that are age-dependent. By basing MSBL rules on IHSA, they offer the same considerations for the health and safety of players to best prepare them for High School play. The season runs from April 1st to Mid-July and includes one league-wide tournament. The teams play between 18-28 league games.
