Please note the new registration opening time; We no longer require midnight registration.
Early online registration for Summer 2024 season returning players. Space is limited and will fill up quickly. Therefore, early registration is first-come, first-served.
Returning players are considered as any player who was on a HPBA house baseball, HPBA house softball or HPBA travel team roster at the end of the 2024 Summer season. Players who left the league or only played in the HPBA Fall Ball leagues are not considered returning players. Furthermore, any family with an outstanding balance owed for 2024 OR an outstanding balance of volunteer time MUST get this resolved before they will be accepted for the 2025 season.
Returning players that are invited to participate in early registration are not guaranteed a spot in the upcoming season. There are a limited number of openings in each division and the number of returning players eligible in each division may actually exceed the number of openings available in that division. Per Chicago Park District guidelines, HPBA must also provide the opportunity for new players to join the league via the lottery process. Once these spots are filled on a per division basis, all subsequent registrants will be placed on the waitlist and required to enter the league via the New Player Lottery guidelines.
These programs have many returning players who will have the first opportunity to register and siblings of returning players get the secondary opportunity to claim any available spots. Any siblings who do not secure an open spot will be placed on the waitlist and must try to get a remaining spot in the New Player Lottery process. No spots are guaranteed.
Online Lottery Sign-Up for new players. All players who sign-up for the lottery online will be automatically assigned a lottery number in January. This includes Returning Players who missed the early registration window and first time applicants without existing HPBA siblings.
Lottery numbers will be selected to fill all remaining spots. The selected players will be contacted to complete their registration into the league. No spots are guaranteed.
Players selected via lottery will be notified by email and will receive a separate invoice for league fees. Invoices must be paid by the date indicated in the email in order to guarantee a spot in the league. Players that do not receive a spot via lottery will remain on the waitlist.
Players can register on the WAITLIST for each of our Baseball and Softball leagues for the 2025 Spring/Summer season.
The following dates are secured for Hamlin Park's 2025 Baseball 8U-13U and Softball 9U-14U travel tryouts:
These will be the only two dates offered, so please plan accordingly. Since this is an indoor facility, we do not plan on canceling due to weather conditions.
All tryouts are at Intentional Sports (1841 N Laramie Ave, Chicago, IL 60639)
The baseball division is based on players' ages as of May 1st, 2025, and the softball division is based on players' age as of September 1st, 2024.
Player division eligibility is based on players’ age as of May 1 of the current year – i.e., the “baseball age” the player played at this summer.
The game schedules will be as follows (exceptions may apply):
While HPBA Fall Ball is “full team” registrations only, we do provide a form for players to put their name on a list that coaches can refer to when looking for players. If you are an individual player looking for a team, this form will let coaches know you are looking.
Please see the official Fall Ball page for more details.
